LED-4xx

For measuring luminous intensity [cd] of LEDs, Instrument Systems has developed a range of suitable measurement adapters. These can be differentiated by their useable spectral range (visible or UV), the required measurement geometry ILED-B and the intended application (laboratory or manufacturing).

LED 25 - CIE 127 compliant optical probe for "Averaged LED Intensity"

The LED 25 optical probe is based on a 25mm inner diameter integrating sphere and 1cm² measurement port. Conceived as a modular system, the LED 25 can be used with distance spacers for "Averaged LED Intensity" measurements compliant with the ILED-B (100 mm) geometrie. In conjunction with a spectroradiometer, photometric and radiometric measurements can be made within the spectral range 220 - 2500 nm.

LED test sockets for standard and high-brightness LEDs

Instrument Systems supplies a wide range of LED test sockets with the LED-5xx and LED-6xx series for fast insertion and rapid changing of LEDs at test setups in the laboratory. These precision test sockets can be supplied for all standard LED types and ensure reproducible positioning of the LED in individual measuring adapters. The list of LED test sockets supplied is continually being updated by types to accommodate the latest series and models from LED manufacturers. Customer-specific adjustments can also be undertaken.

LED-81x/-850 - test sockets for high power LEDs

With electrical power up to several watts, high-power LEDs do not only generate high light output. The associated thermal dissipation leads to considerable warming of the LED chip and packaging, so this energy has to be properly dissipated in order to guarantee the specified LED lifetime and to avoid failure. The chip temperature also significantly affects the emitted optical power and so too the emission spectrum (color). Higher temperatures result in a reduction in the amount of light generated. Instrument Systems has developed two ranges of test sockets for reliable operation of high-power LEDs - the LED-81x series with passive cooling and the LED-850 series with active cooling/heating via a thermoelectric cooler element. Robust contact pins enable proper electrical connection to the LEDs.

LED calibration standards in the ACS series

As market leader for LED metrology, Instrument Systems also offers calibration standards on an LED basis. The ACS-570 series has been configured for the photometric quantities of luminous intensity or rather averaged LED intensity and luminous flux. The ACS-585 is suitable for the calibration of luminance. With both LED calibration standards, color coordinates x and y can additionally be verified. The LED calibration standards enable simple and reliable check of the calibration of Instrument Systems measuring instruments. If necessary, the photometric absolute value can be recalibrated according to the substitution method recommended by the CIE.
